About 5by5 Studios

5by5 is an Internet broadcasting network, home to podcasts like The Pipeline, The Big Web Show, The Conversation, The Dev Show, and more, with over 120,000 downloads per week.

The phrase five by five is an old-school term defined as a signal that has excellent strength and perfect clarity – the most understandable signal possible.

The studio was founded in 2009 by Dan Benjamin to centralize, produce, and distribute the podcasts he and his friends were creating.

Please contact us with your ideas, comments, and feedback. Please see our advertising page if you're interested in sponsoring one of our broadcasts.

About the Site

This site is powered by a custom Ruby on Rails CMS created by Dan Benjamin with help from Jason Seifer. It was built specifically for delivering 5by5 podcasts and videocasts.

The site was designed by Bainbridge Studios, a Seattle–based creative services agency.

The 5by5 logo was created by Drew Strojny at Jestro, a web design studio in Boise, Idaho.
