Microsoft is building a white Xbox One, but it's for employees only. A reddit poster has revealed that Microsoft plans to gift the special edition white Xbox One to employees who have worked on the next-generation console. Employees working in Microsoft's Interactive Entertainment Business, the division responsible for Xbox, will receive a free Xbox One, one year of Xbox Live, games, and a special achievement all on launch day. The front of the console even includes an "I made this" engraving.
However, when asked on Reddit about the possibility of selling the console variant to the public, Microsoft's Larry "Major Nelson" Hyrb answered "maybe waaaay in the future."

Kickstarter will begin accepting Australian and New Zealand-based projects "in the very near future," the crowdfunding site announced today.Details are limited at this stage, but interested parties can sign up to be notified when Australian and New Zealand residents can start launching Kickstarter campaigns. Kickstarter is currently available only in the U.S., the U.K. (where it launched last fall) and Canada, where it will roll out on Sept. 9.

Apple continues its selective content partner rollout today with an update to Apple TV software that adds Vevo, as previously rumored, as well as Disney Channel, Disney XD, The Weather Channel and Smithsonian via new dedicated apps, as 9to5Mac reports. All those content providers are live in the U.S., but U.K. users and other regions will see only select channels via update.
In a move that should surprise exactly no one, BlackBerry is said to be thinking about spinning off BBM into its own subsidiary company called BBM Inc., says the Wall Street Journal. As BlackBerry faces the prospect of potentially having to part out its more valuable assets for sale, BBM is a natural opportunity that comes to mind, and the recent decision to take the messaging platform to both iOS and Android makes a lot more sense once you consider that a means of fluffing the brand prior to a potential sale.
