#36: Persona Non Golden

Jeff and Christian welcome Anthony Carboni from We Have Concerns and Rev3Games to the show to talk all things Gamescom and Gencon. First up is the Microsoft press conference, and everybody has a complaint about how the Rise of the Tomb Raider exsclusivity was handled. Not to mention 3 bundles, the Halo Channel, and no Kinect. For the Sony press conference, the guys are excited about new games including Rime, The Tomorrow Children, and Wild, and SharePlay. Plus, a new game from Bioware, Obsidian gets the Pathfinder license, Sierra making Geometry Wars 3, Kojima and Del Toro combine for P.T. and Silent Hills, and much much more. From the GenCon front, Jeff is excited for Star Wars Imperial Assault, and a whole mess of game announcements.

In the Playlist, Anthony loves Hohokum, Christian loves Swapper, and Jeff loves Diablo 3 for PS4.

During Tabletop Time, Jeff played the final version of the new Plaid Hat game, Dead of Winter, and everyone is buzzing for D&D 5th Edition.

#32: Don't Choke On That Thing

In the Playlist, Jeff and Ben have lots to say about the Destiny Beta, while Christian talks Walking Dead season 2. Ben has paid money to enjoy Magic: Duels of the Planeswalkers 2015, and Jeff loves the beauty of elegance of Monument Valley on the iPad.

Then in The Playlist, Jeff goes a little crazy praising Divinity: Original Sin, which he calls one of the best games of ever. Christian tries to manage the slurping, but Jeff loves loving the throwback CRPG in all of its glory. Christian has some memories of Aladdin Genesis that he's revisiting himself, too.

For Tabletop Time, David talks about destroying his friends at Dominion, and Jeff is excited to play the newly announced Spiel des Jahres winners.

Geoff is the designer of The Ares Project, Space Cadets, and Space Cadets Dice Duel, as well as the host of the Ludology Podcast and Gametech on The Dice Tower. The guys discuss Kickstarter's effect on games, the Steam Summer Sale, and a crazy WoW player who leveled to 90 without ever leaving the starting area.

In Tabletop Time, Geoff discusses Splendor and Lewis & Clark, as well as his own games. The guys talk about The Magic Circle and introducing one new design concept per game.

In the Playlist, Christian is playing DmC: Devil May Cry, Geoff is enjoying Hearthstone and Wolf Among Us, and Jeff has found the love for Wildstar.


#27: You're The Best In Town

Jeff and Christian are joined by the very first member of the DLC 5-Timers Club, Garnett Lee, from Garnett on Games to work through all of the post-E3 news. First up, it is the Destiny Alpha, which has been making a good first impression all weekend long. Christian is perplexed by the discovery of great graphics setting hidden inside the PC code for Watch_Dogs. And Jeff hopes the fate of the Wii U has been improved by the strong sales of Mario Kart 8. Plus, PS4 side-by-side with PS3 of the GTA V trailer looks really pretty, but what does that mean for graphics on this new generation of consoles?

In the Playlist, Garnett and Christian have been playing tons of Destiny, and have a lot to say about it. Jeff has been playing Wild Star and is trying to find the love. And Christian has some feeling about Battlefield: Hardline.

For Tabletop Time, Jeff wants to highlight the winners of this weekend's Origins Awards, including Numenera, Love Letter, and Trains.
